Melted Plastic Bag quilt. Quite colourful. Stitched across and down deciding on the next move whether to do more stitching or leave it pinned to a mount board.

Raku Firing
Really pleased with the results of the firing. Went out to Richmond with ceramics group from Willoughby Workshop Art Centre on Saturday. Most of the pieces had a white crackle glaze, some turquoise and green. Where the pot is black means there was no glaze applied. White Raku and brt clay was used giving differing results.

Pinch Pots
I made these last week, pinch pots with Fowlers Gap red clay on the inside.
These will be fired in the kiln at Willoughby Workshop.

Individual Project - Ceramic Pieces
These are pieces bisqued ready for a raku firing (glaze) on Saturday. After firing the glaze will be crackle salmon colour and black where there is no glaze. I will put the pieces in different firings as each firing produces different results.
The initial concept The Collective Experience of the place. Imprint on the surface of the 'message sticks' tells a story. The bowl was made with the intention of being placed on the message sticks, thus collecting water which feeds the soil etc. (This may change). I brought back the salt bush to plant in one of the vessels. I am also making small pinch pots with some red clay (from Fowlers Gap) put in the pinch pot - this will probably become a glaze as it melts faster than the stoneware. I had envisaged putting dried plants and items collected during the field trip.

Junk Brick Project - Field Trip July 2011 UNSW
Here are some junk brick sculptures which were created during my trip with UNSW in July. Our team created a number of junk bricks, we all had the opportunity to make group and individual bricks. This one was my favourite using melted plastic bags, plastic bottles, metal frames (magazine rack from a previous life) plus many other useful pieces of junk.
I named it the emu mail box. Once the project was finished I removed the plastic so that if it came away from the sculpture it would not return to damage the environment.
