Individual Project - Ceramic Pieces

These are pieces bisqued ready for a raku firing (glaze) on Saturday. After firing the glaze will be crackle salmon colour and black where there is no glaze. I will put the pieces in different firings as each firing produces different results.
The initial concept The Collective Experience of the place. Imprint on the surface of the 'message sticks' tells a story. The bowl was made with the intention of being placed on the message sticks, thus collecting water which feeds the soil etc. (This may change). I brought back the salt bush to plant in one of the vessels. I am also making small pinch pots with some red clay (from Fowlers Gap) put in the pinch pot - this will probably become a glaze as it melts faster than the stoneware. I had envisaged putting dried plants and items collected during the field trip.
